An appeal concerning final property orders where various issues pertaining to matters during the hearing were raised on appeal. Appeal successfully defended and dismissed.

Holt v Dental Board of Australia [2023] NTSC 28

Led by D Savage KC.

Appeal considered findings of the Northern Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and whether or not the Tribunal had erred in law in making those findings.

KAL v DJL (No 2) [2022] QDC 275

An appeal concerning the making of a Protection Order, where the Court considered there was an act of domestic violence, but the order wasn’t ultimately “necessary or desirable” in the circumstances of the case. On the question of costs, whether, in the circumstances of a finding that a party has been the victim of domestic violence, whether this should depart from the ordinary rule that costs follow the event. No costs were ordered.

Melville & Melville (No. 3) [2020] FamCAFC 231 

An appeal concerning the making of property and parenting orders by consent, where a party sought to withdraw consent prior to the issuing of the orders. Appeal successfully defended and dismissed.
